Platform Team Lead is a strategic role at Kaptio and crucial to the successful delivery of our long term product roadmap . As a platform team lead, you will deliver first-class platform and operations processes to underpin Kaptio’s product suite, as well as mentoring, supporting and inspiring team members to implement best practices in continuously improving platform scalability, stability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and maintaining high standards within the platform infrastructure by providing technical leadership and coaching to team members.
  • Suggesting and selecting appropriate tools, technologies, or external 3rd party services to address different problems. Leveraging a keen understanding of the capabilities of different tools.
  • Leading teams and individuals by:
    • Defining OKRs with your team, supporting and reporting on team progress
    • Encouraging and leading by example by using agile methodologies, tools, meeting rhythms and work processes
  • Supporting team members’ performance and engagement by:
    • Holding regular 1:1s, giving feedback and guidance, and using coaching; Ensuring that holiday planning, time-tracking and team members’ requests are managed timely and effectively.
  • Managing our incident response and creating on-call plans for the platform team when needed.
  • Ensuring the security, compliance and performance of our platform by overseeing and implementing best practices in line with industry standards. This includes proactively identifying and mitigating security risks, monitoring system vulnerabilities, and overseeing the monitoring and optimization of performance metrics

Required Skills

  • Team Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills to lead and motivate a team of IT operations professionals effectively.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) to oversee projects related to infrastructure and operations improvements.
  • Vendor Management: Ability to manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers for infrastructure and support services.
  • Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address complex technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and GCP services to ensure the company's IT operations remain efficient and competitive.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Ability to set up and manage monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and configure alerts to ensure high availability and performance of SaaS products.
  • Incident Management: Skill in incident detection, response, and resolution, including experience with incident tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow).
  • Security Awareness: Knowledge of IT security best practices, including access control, encryption, and vulnerability management, to protect SaaS products and customer data.
